Consultation Paper – Registration Standards

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the Board) has released a consultation paper on proposed registration standards for: 

Continuing professional development (CPD) and CPD Guidelines

Criminal history

English language skills

Professional indemnity insurance (PII)

Recency of practice

In addition, the Board is also consulting on a draft Grandparenting registration standard  which advises on transitional arrangements for qualifications.

Approved national registration standards will apply for the occupational therapy profession from 1 July 2012.

Submissions

The Board is interested in comments from a wide range of stakeholders about the proposed standards and invites written submissions on these draft standards.

If you wish to provide comments, please email submissions marked “Registration Standards” to otboardconsultation@ahpra.gov.au by close of business on Friday, 7 October 2011.

The Board will publish submissions on its website, to encourage discussion and to inform the community and stakeholders.

The Board also accepts submissions made in confidence. These submissions will not be published. Submissions may be confidential because they include personal or other sensitive information.
